2018 already promises to be a defining year for us at Body Politic.
We’re now a not-for-profit company, creating professional bodies of work for the stage. And we’re ready to take on this year full of opportunities with that in mind.
Funding applications are flying around to both develop and expand our ‘M’ Word project, and develop ‘Reflections’ and our theatre-making skills with it.
But rather than create a long resolutions list, we thought we’d pick out three things we’re excited about in our calendar!
Pregnancy Exercise Course
We have once again teamed up with Oxfordshire Mind to bring you a new course led by our Artistic Director Emma-Jane Greig.
You can learn practical ways to aid your wellbeing before and after pregnancy in a supportive and relaxed environment.
Each wellbeing session will cover a range of topics such as making time for yourself, sleep deprivation, coping with life changes and exercise through Barre – a low-impact exercise programme perfect for mums to be!

The M Word
The M Word will back for its second term!
We will continue working with young people, 12-16yrs, to really explore mental health and how they can express it through movement and street dance.
The term starts on January 9th and ends on 7th February 2018. No previous experience is needed and all levels are welcome!
You can register your child or young person here!
Our resolve to create dance theatre to explore mental health is even stronger.
We’re heading to Resolution 2018, a dance platform for emerging choreographers and companies at The Place in the heart of London.
Our work Father Figurineexplores the fragilities and vulnerabilities hidden by a father and son in their fractured relationship. Shinning a light on the male ego through spoken word and hip hop dance.
You can join us on January 19th at 8pm to see our piece, with other performances by Limb Dance Company, presenting Reclaim the Word Slut, and Roisin O’Brien, presenting Some People Say, to complete the evening’s triple bill.
We look forward to seeing you there!
